Salford Heart Care

SALFORD HEART CARE IS STILL VERY MUCH OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!

Salford Heart Care was founded by Bernard Hamilton in 1987. He recognised that there was a need for rehabilitation & support for patients recovering from heart disease, at a time when treatments were not as advanced as they are now. He found the pressures of having to adopt a new lifestyle overwhelming.

The Group continues to assist heart sufferers and, importantly, support their carers and family. There are now several groups operating across Salford.  Click here for more details

There are many benefits to be gained from the practical support offered by Salford Heart Care. Discussing mutual experiences can help with feelings of depression, frustration and anxiety (why me?). There can be an overwhelming reaction to a diagnosis of heart disease (and other long term health conditions) that can be alleviated by meeting with others. The group also offers a range of therapies and activities including Reiki, Indian Head Massage, relaxation techniques, dance instruction & gentle exercise. There are also a range of social activities such as ‘days out' and the annual Christmas party.

Meeting with others in a group setting can really help to restore and renew confidence. Membership and attending their meetings can still be beneficial even if members decide that they are able to return to work.
